Principal's Message

The Central Academy of Forest Education (CAFE) Previously known by the name Eastern Forest Rangers College (EFRC) is located at St. Marys Hill in Kurseong sub-division of Darjeeling District, West Bengal.

EFRC was inaugurated in year 1974 for providing training exclusively to Forest Rangers Officers. Considering the importance and demand of Forestry related training, this college also started providing training to

various Stakeholders in the society like Govt. Departments Army, Para-military Forces, NGOs, School and so on. The Academy comes under the control of the Directorate of forest Education (DFE), which functions directly under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) since 1991.

Central Academy of Forest Education (CAFE), Kurseong is one of the premier institutions in the country performing the task of imparting professional training to Forest Range Officers on all the skills & knowledge that a forester must possess.
